Where will my Eye Surgery take place at?

Surgery will take place at Swedish Medical Centers Eye Surgery Center which is located on the Sixth Floor of the Arnold Pavilion.

For our Group Health patients, surgery will take place with Dr. Robert Francis at Group Health Bellevue Medical Center located on the Overlake Hospital campus.

How long will I be at the Hospital?

Please plan on being at the hospital 3 to 4 hours on the day of your surgery.

Do I need a driver?

Yes, you will need someone with you to drive you home after surgery.

Can I eat prior to surgery?

No. You will need to abstain from all food, water, coffee, gum, ect. for 8 hours prior to your surgery.

How long will I need to wear a patch? 

You will have a patch on overnight which will be removed in the office the day after your surgery.

What kind of restrictions will I have following my surgery?

We do not recommend vigorous activities that elevate heart rate and blood pressure or cause straining in the first week after your surgery.
